How to Perform Maha Ganpati Homa?

Here’s the simple Ganapathi Homam procedure:

The first step includes Anjuna.

Here, the devotee chants mantras to seek permission from Lord Ganesha and other deities for the Homam.

The second step includes Aachamanam.

This step involves sipping holy water to purify one’s inner body and soul.

The third step includes Vigneshwara Puja.

In this step, the devotee performs Vigneshwara Puja & prays to Lord Ganesha to remove all obstacles and problems from his life.

The Fourth step includes Pranayama & Sankalpam

Here, the devotee takes a vow to gratify Lord Ganesha.

The fifth step includes Kalash Shuddhi.

Here, the devotee should sprinkle holy water on themselves.

The sixth step includes Agni Prathisthapana.

In this step, the devotee should light a fire in Havan Kund with camphor & ghee.

The seventh & last step includes Dikpala Puja.

In the last step, devotees or pandits perform Dikpaalaka Puja along with Panchopachara Puja. 

The Pandit performs an invocation to God before the preliminary offerings are poured into the Havan Kund. A few Ganapathi Mantras are then chanted in front of the Kund. In the aftermath of Poornahuti, Udvasana (the ritual’s conclusion) is performed.
