How And When To Use Griha Pravesh Puja Samagri?

The following steps will show you how and when to use Griha Pravesh Puja Samagri:

  • A Griha Pravesh Puja should only be performed once the home is ready to be inhabited.
  • Griha Pravesh’s muhurats should be fixed by an experienced Vedic Pandit, according to the owner’s horoscope.
  • Upon selecting the auspicious date, the Pandit will provide a list of Samagri (the ones listed above).
  • Get your house clean before the Puja begins with Ganga Jal.
  • Samagris (Checklist) and other components are carried out two hours before Puja begins by the Pandit.
  • Adorn your home with garlands, rangolis, and mango leaves for an aura-cleansing effect.
  • Hindu tradition dictates that one should hold the idol or picture of Lord Ganesha as they enter their house for the very first time.
  • The idol of Lord Ganesha should be placed in the northeast corner of your home.
  • A pair of diyas should stand next to the idol, along with a Kalash filled with Ganga Jal and an offering of bhog (panchamrit), fruits, and flowers.
  • From here, begin the Griha Pravesh, or Housewarming ceremony, by lighting the stove in the kitchen. Once the stove is lit, the rice and milk will be boiled together in a new vessel and served as prasad to the beloved Pandit Ji and family members.
  • Perform Mangal Aarti by lighting the camphor or aggarbatti and blowing the conch (dispels evil energies) to invoke the god of wisdom.
  • Now, break the dry coconut and serve it to everyone as Prasad. Do not forget to sprinkle the Kalash water throughout the house through the mango leaves.
