Sankashti Chaturthi Dates 2026 & Moonrise Timings
Verified with Drik Panchang 2026
Sankashti Chaturthi 2026 begins with a highly auspicious Angarki Chaturthi on January 6, 2026. This monthly fast is observed on the 4th day of the Krishna Paksha (waning phase) to seek the blessings of Lord Ganesha. The fast is broken only after sighting the Moon (Chandrodaya) and offering Arghya.
The word Sankashti comes from the Sanskrit word Sankata (Trouble) and Nashana (Destruction). Observing this Vrat is the ultimate remedy for removing obstacles (Vighna).
