Kuber was a devout worshipper of Lord Shiva and needed fresh flowers daily for his puja.<\/p>\n<p>He had a Yaksha gardener named <strong>Hemamali<\/strong>. Hemamali was deeply in love with his beautiful wife, <strong>Swarupavati<\/strong>. One day, blinded by lust and attraction, Hemamali neglected his duty. Instead of delivering the flowers to Kuber, he stayed home with his wife.<\/p>\n<p>Kuber waited for the flowers till noon. Enraged by the delay, he sent soldiers to find the gardener. Upon learning of Hemamali\u2019s negligence, Kuber cursed him: <em>&#8220;You have disrespected the Lord for your lust. You shall suffer from <strong>white leprosy<\/strong> and be separated from your beloved wife!&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Hemamali fell from Alkapuri to Earth, suffering in great pain.
